Long Distance Relationships Success Help

“Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and blows up the bonfire.”
– Francois de la Rouchefoucauld

I was in the US and traveling abroad while Yuri was in the Philippines.  We had a long distance relationship for a total of 2 years before we were eventually willing to violate international laws to be together.  We did not violate any international laws.. (I think).

We are together now but we could not have done it without first having a successful long distance relationship!  Now we want to help by sharing what we learned.  There are a lot of ingredients that go into a successful long distance relationship, but we have boiled it down to 5 things.

LOVE is not on this list.  Love is just a word without actions

Love is not enough. It is not one of the keys.

  1. Constant communication. Include them into your life.
  2. Learning to trust each other.
  3. Knowing yourself. To not be influenced about opinion.
  4. Setting pride aside. Put your partner first.
  5. Understanding your partner. seeing their perspective and respecting your partner’s opinion.

Do your best to be together.

Is She a Filipina scammer if I met her family

Our friend Maclobio asked us:
“can you please make a video about how to find out if my Filipina fiance is a scammer, what clues can you give me about how she would act if she is scamming me. will she introduce me to her family if she knows that she is scamming me?”

If your wife is taking you to meet her family then it is more than likely the real deal. Romance scammers are always trying to hide their true intent. If she is taking you to meet the family then she is actually wanting to make sure her family is ok with you.

The relationship is about to go to the next level if you allow it. One thing we would have you watch out for is families that are aggressive about asking for money. In these cases you should talk to your partner about what is acceptable.

Not all Filipino relatives we do this kind of thing, but we just want you to know it does happen. Communication is important.

When you marry a filipina, you marry the entire family

when you marry a filipina you marry the family

They say when you marry a filipina, you marry the whole family. After being married to one for 2 years now, I would say there is some truth to it. But I do understand it. Many westerners who marry filipinas either complain or vow never to support a filipinas family. It can become an issue if you don’t talk about it.

If you are familiar with Filipino culture and how strong the family ties are, then you should understand who important it is to be open to helping. If you understand the absolute poverty exits in most parts of the Philippines, you would think there would be some empathy from westerners. The combination of strong family and rampant poverty in the Philippines makes it almost inevitable that there be a need for help.

If a western husband decides that he will not help his wife’s family no matter what, this becomes a “red flag” to the filipina. If the roles were reversed and something bad happened to the westerner’s family and the filipina did not care, what would this mean to the relationship. There is double standard for some westerners.

People keep asking us to tell the story of how we met. Here it is. It is really not what you would expect and it is not like any story we have ever heard of. It is tragic and triumphant.

To our friends and subscribers here in youtube,
Take this story as an inspiration to work hard to make your relationship successful. Marriage is not easy. It is a continuous work. I wish you the best in your relationship. Never give up when the person has potential. Love is risky but it can be worth it.

Dating a filipina : A 20 yr old and 60 yr old

marrying a filipina

We are 15 years apart and the age gap has really played to our advantage.  It turns out we met each other at the right time over our lives.  For many filipinas marrying an older man is not just ok, it is preferred.  But what is the limit of this age gap?  Is it 20 years?  Is it 25 years?  Or maybe 30?

Usually, 30 years gap is really too much.  But there are are exceptions.  When an older man is very, very respectful, loving and can capture her heart then the age gap can be very big.

How to identify a filipina scammer

how to identify a filipina scammer

Many filipinas find online dating as their source of income.  They treat it like their career or a business asset.  Their end goal is to be able to withdraw cash in western union branches.  It sounds crazy but that is what is going on in the Philippines.  I have seen how they do it with my own eyes and I have talked to a professional filipina scammer before.  It is truly unbelievable how they lure foreigners to a romance scam and convince them to send money. Some of them are already in relationship with a local guy.  They will even fund their local man with the money they take from YOU.  Some filipina scammers are in it for fun and profit.  The use that scam money to feed the entire family and have no intention of being with a foreigner at all.  They would normally pose as somebody else and use beautiful filipina pictures including actresses and models.

I previously made this lists of Top 3 things NOT to do on an online dating site and it covers some of these things.   These are the most common lies that they used to fool men online.  My only advice would be do not fall into the trap! Analyze the situation before you fall in love.  Do not be a victim!

Here are some of the things a scammer will say to start getting money from you:

  1. “I am going through a separation, I need help to speed up my annulment.”
  2. “My grandmother died. I need help for the burial.
  3. ” Our roof was blown away by the strong typhoon! Help me please….
  4. “My family is very poor. We are starving. I need money for food.
  5. “Some relative is very ill and need some help.”
  6.  “I am from the US, I am stuck in the Philippines. I need your help to buy a ticket so I can go back in America.”

The point is there are people that are truly in need of help.  If you want to help people, help someone who is at least telling the truth.  Not someone who is deceiving you for money.  Some will even put on an Oscar award winning performance, crying and sobbing to get your sympathy and your money.  How pathetic is that?

It is sad but it is happening everyday on dating sites.  It is better to be aware than to be ignorant about this issue.  There are many good filipinas out there but you have to swim through the scammers before you can get to the shore of possible soulmates.  Just do not fall into the scammer’s trap. Do not get distracted by them.  Keep looking for the right one for you. There is someone meant for all of us. We just need to look for it.  Do not lose hope.  You are a loser if you give up!
